European Flights Return to Dubai: What It Means for Your Winter Bookings

Airline dates checked 27 October 2026.

British Airways restarts its daily London flight to Dubai on 3 November. Lufthansa, SWISS and Eurowings follow from 25 November, after the Lufthansa Group pushed back its October restart.

If you own a holiday home here, the timing matters. The Dubai winter season is starting, and Western Europe sends Dubai more visitors than any other region.

But several airlines are still out, and guests still book only a few days before they arrive.

At Homevy, a holiday homes management company in Dubai with Airbnb Superhost status, we review rates daily, focusing on the nights closest to arrival. What we see is a season that’s recovering, not recovered.

TL;DR on European Flights and Dubai Holiday Homes

  1. British Airways returns on 3 November, and the Lufthansa Group airlines on German and Swiss routes follow from 25 November.
  2. Four airlines are still out, among them Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific, and Air Canada and Wizz Air won’t be back before spring 2027.
  3. Western Europe made up 20% of Dubai’s visitors from January to August 2026.
  4. Homevy’s Monthly Index put the Dubai market’s booking lead time at 2.8 days in September.
  5. Owners should keep winter dates open and minimum stays flexible, and save longer stays for New Year’s Eve.
  6. Flights coming back doesn’t mean booked nights, and the Lufthansa Group itself says “short-notice adjustments to individual routes may be necessary”.

European Flights to Dubai Resuming This Winter

British Airways restarts flights to Dubai on 3 November, and three Lufthansa Group airlines follow on 25 November. Austrian Airlines follows from Vienna on 12 December. By late November, the big German and Swiss hubs are connected to Dubai again.

Airline Route Restarts Frequency Source
Lufthansa Munich to Dubai 25 November 2026 5 weekly Lufthansa Group, 23 Oct
Lufthansa Frankfurt to Dubai 25 November 2026 Up to 5 weekly Lufthansa Group, 23 Oct
SWISS Zurich to Dubai 25 November 2026 Daily SWISS, 23 Oct
Eurowings Berlin to Dubai 25 November 2026 Daily Lufthansa Group, 23 Oct
British Airways To Dubai 3 November 2026 Once daily this winter Khaleej Times, 16 Sep
Austrian Airlines Vienna to Dubai 12 December 2026 5 weekly Lufthansa Group, 23 Oct

Lufthansa, SWISS and Eurowings Return From 25 November

Lufthansa and SWISS had planned to restart on 25 October, and Eurowings on 1 November. On 23 October, the Lufthansa Group moved all three to 25 November “in light of the current situation and outlook in the Middle East”.

From then, Lufthansa plans 5 weekly flights from Munich and up to 5 weekly from Frankfurt, and SWISS plans a daily Zurich service. At its winter peak, the Lufthansa Group plans up to 28 weekly flights to Dubai.

British Airways Returns From 3 November

British Airways told Khaleej Times it will resume flights to Dubai from 3 November. They run once daily this winter, with double daily services planned for the summer season. Abu Dhabi stays suspended until the winter 2027-2028 season.

Which Airlines to Dubai Are Still Suspended

Four more airlines are still not flying to Dubai, and two of them won’t be back before spring 2027. Eurowings has also cancelled two of the three German routes it planned.

Airline Status Source
Singapore Airlines Cancelled until 1 December 2026 SIA advisory, 1 Oct
Cathay Pacific Cancelled up to and including 31 January 2027 Cathay Pacific, 28 Sep
Air Canada Cancelled until the end of March 2027 Air Canada, 24 Sep
Wizz Air Cancelled for winter, 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027 The National, 8 Oct
Eurowings, Stuttgart and Cologne/Bonn Not operating in winter 2026/27 Lufthansa Group, 15 Oct

What does that mean for your bookings? Guests from Stuttgart and Cologne lose their planned direct Eurowings flight. Guests in Canada and Asia can’t fly direct on their home airline yet.

A Eurowings spokesperson told aeroTELEGRAPH on 13 October that tourist demand for Dubai “has not yet returned to its earlier level”, and that high fuel costs weigh on these long routes (our translation from German).

European Guests and the Dubai Winter Season

Western Europe is Dubai’s biggest source of visitors. Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) says “Western Europe remained the leading regional contributor from January to August, accounting for 20% of visitation”. That’s out of 6.97 million international visitors in those eight months.

August was also the strongest month since February, with approximately 869,000 international overnight visitors, according to the Dubai Media Office release of 13 September.

So when the German and Swiss hubs reconnect, guests from Dubai’s biggest source region get more direct routes for the Dubai winter season. Our Dubai Airbnb market 2026 guide shows how winter bookings were pacing in August.

Booking Lead Times in the Dubai Winter Season

Guests book days ahead. The Homevy Monthly Index for September 2026 puts the Dubai market’s booking lead time at 2.8 days, up from 2.63 in August. That was the first increase after three straight months of shorter windows.

So how do you price for a guest who decides on Thursday to arrive on Saturday?

In our Airbnb revenue management guide we put it plainly: “At Homevy, we don’t treat minimum stays as a fixed rule.” As the guide says, “Sometimes that means opening up one-night gaps. At other times, it means encouraging guests to stay for weeks or months.”

Pricing moves with the window too. In September, we reworked our dynamic pricing as guests began booking further ahead. Airbnb’s own hosting guidance offers a last-minute discount that “applies to reservations confirmed 1 to 28 days before check-in.”

Homevy Tip: once a week, check the minimum stay on every open night in the next 14 days. Open single-night gaps between bookings so they can be booked, rather than leaving them empty.

New Year’s Eve and Dubai’s December Peak Weeks

December is the month for rates. AirDNA says November through January usually hosts the highest demand of the year, and December has the highest average daily rate (ADR). But as at 30 September, AirDNA also reported that “short-term nights are down 8% and 6% in December and January”.

Is it too early to price New Year’s Eve? Our September Index plan for October already included “planning rates early for the festive weeks and New Year’s Eve”. This is the one stretch where we’d keep a longer minimum stay instead of opening short gaps.

Before the peak weeks, run the final property check in our peak season preparation guide.

Monthly Stays Versus Short Stays This Winter

Short stays suit the peak weeks. Monthly stays suit property owners who want fewer turnovers. Our Monthly Stays have a 30-night minimum, with utilities and WiFi included.

Which one fits your home? If November has long gaps and you’d rather have one guest for the month than a string of short turnovers, a monthly guest can fill them. If you want every December night priced for peak demand, keep those weeks for short stays.

FAQs About the Dubai Winter Season

1. Is the Dubai airport open right now?

Yes. Dubai International Airport is operating, and Emirates has restored 97% of its global network (Dubai Media Office, DET data, 13 Sep 2026). Some foreign airlines are still suspended; see the table above.

2. When is peak season for Dubai holiday homes?

Usually November to January, AirDNA says, with December getting the highest ADR.

3. Are all flights to Dubai back?

Not yet. As at 27 October 2026, the four airlines in the suspended table were still not flying to Dubai, the Lufthansa Group had moved its restart to 25 November, and Eurowings had cancelled Stuttgart and Cologne/Bonn for the winter.

4. Flights are back, so will my calendar fill?

Partly, and not all at once. DET’s visitor numbers improved through August, but Eurowings says tourist demand “has not yet returned to its earlier level”. Homevy plans each calendar for late bookers and doesn’t promise occupancy.

5. Will short minimum stays mean more cleaning and wear?

More stays mean more turnovers, yes. Minimum stays work like a dial: short gaps where a night would otherwise stay empty, and longer stays for New Year’s Eve. If you’d rather have fewer guests, Homevy’s Monthly Stays need 30 nights minimum.

6. What if flights are cancelled again?

It can happen. Lufthansa Group says “short-notice adjustments to individual routes may be necessary”. Keep your calendar and cancellation settings under review, and read our guide to Airbnb host cancellations.

What to Do With Your Calendar This Winter

Open your winter dates now and check your minimum stays every week. Hold New Year’s Eve for longer stays. That’s how we’d plan for a season that’s recovering, not recovered.

Airline dates can still change at short notice, so check them again before you block or discount any week.
